On August 31, 2015 by gorehore

Since of the recent passing of our Horror Maestor, Wes Craven, I would like to dedicate this week to him and his movies.

Wes Craven

Wesley Earl “Wes” Craven (August 2, 1939, Cleveland, Ohio – August 30, 2015, Los Angeles, California) was an American film director, writer, producer, and actor known for his work on horror films, particularly slasher films. He was best known for creating the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise featuring the Freddy Krueger character.

Craven also directed the entire Scream series featuring Ghostface. Scream was the winner of MTV’s 1996 Best Movie Award and grossed more than $100 million domestically.

By the way, you should really take the opportunity and meet Roger L. Jackson, who is the voice behind Ghostface, at the Fan Expo this weekend. Also, the stars of Scream, Neve Campbell and Skeet Ulrich will be there .

Some of his other films include The Hills Have EyesThe Last House on the LeftThe Serpent and the RainbowThe People Under the StairsCursed, and My Soul to Take.

During his career, Craven won nine cinematic awards and received three nominations.

He also had a good eye for discovering fresh talent, such as Johnny Depp, Sharon Stone, and Bruce Willis to name a few.

Wes Craven died of brain cancer at his home in Los Angeles. He was 76 years old.

Rest in peace Wes. You will be missed…
